120-min

Two posts in one day… what the hell?

I had to post this, because it’s such a great find.
Anyone who was into alternative music in the 80’s remembers 120 minutes with a deep fondness. While MTV was mired in Poison, Whitesnake and Micheal Jackson videos, those with the enormous coif and black Creepers waited patiently for 10pm on Sunday nights for a dose of College rock, New Wave and industrial dittys.
At the 120 Minutes Archive, they’ve successfully saved most of the playlists, videos, and yes, even entire shows from the entire run of the show.

So, pay a visit, and once again enjoy the gentle British lilt of Dave Kendall’s introductions and interviews.

By the way, Matt Pinfield’s first time on camera at 120 Minutes? Interviewing Depeche Mode. Classic.

22 Year Reunion (kinda)

Well kids, this last Saturday Kevin Lane and his wife Stacey were in town, and we decided to have an impromptu reunion at Chicago Fire pizza downtown.

As an aside, If you’re not on Facebook, you should get yourself there. You’re really missing out on the biggest thing in social networking in years.

In any case, Kevin and Stacey were there, as well as myself and my wife ViAnn, along with Cheryl Hayer, Cabot O’Callaghan, Dina Nottingham and her husband, Nate Eckhardt, and Scott Vicory. We had a fantastic time. We waited outside for our table talking the whole time, and once we got in we spent 3 hours eating pizza, drinking beer and just having a fantastic time. It was decided that we should do more of these dinner gatherings, maybe every 12-24 months, and I think that’s a damned good idea.

If you couldn’t make it, here’s a couple of pictures for you.
